Three young boys were killed and one sustained life-threatening injuries in a horrific accident late Saturday night when their scooter was crushed between a lorry and a car on the Ring Road near Galeepura. The incident occurred along a national highway stretch leading to Karivaradaraja Hill, highlighting ongoing road safety concerns in Karnataka, where overloaded vehicles and high-speed collisions contribute to thousands of fatalities annually, per government data.
The victims, all riding the scooter, were identified as Mehran (13) and Adnan Pasha (9) from the Galipura locality and Rayan (8) from KP Mohalla in Chamarajanagar. The scooter collided head-on with a car heading toward Tamil Nadu and a lorry approaching Chamarajanagar, completely mangling the two-wheeler in the impact.
Mehran died at the scene, while the others were rushed to SIMS Hospital and later transferred to a private facility in Mysuru. Despite medical efforts, Adnan Pasha and Rayan succumbed to their injuries. The fourth boy, Faizal (11), remains in critical condition. Two occupants of the car suffered minor injuries.

Police have registered cases against the drivers of both the lorry and car, with an investigation underway to determine factors like speed, visibility, or negligence. Authorities urged caution on highways, especially at night.
