Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday launched a series of healthcare initiatives under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, aimed at strengthening public health services and supporting frontline workers. The initiatives were unveiled at Tyagraj Stadium during the ASHA Conference-2026, with the Delhi government linking the measures to its broader vision of building a healthier ‘Viksit Dilli’.
A key announcement was the doubling of the monthly honorarium for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers from Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the enhanced incentive would provide financial support to 6,690 ASHA workers in Delhi and help strengthen door-to-door healthcare services. The Lieutenant Governor also underlined the important role played by ASHA workers in delivering essential health services at the community level.
The government also launched a dedicated State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO) centre at GB Pant Hospital. According to Gupta, the centre is expected to improve coordination in the organ donation and transplantation process, helping ensure that patients requiring transplants receive timely assistance. The initiative is part of efforts to strengthen systems supporting organ donation and transplantation in the capital.

Another initiative announced during the event was the expansion of the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife Online (ANMOL) scheme. Under the expanded programme, newborns in Delhi will receive free screening for 56 health conditions, allowing potential health problems to be identified at an early stage. The government said early detection can support timely treatment and improve healthcare access for newborns.
The Nursing Home Management System Portal was also launched to make processes related to nursing homes more simple, transparent and accountable. The initiatives collectively focus on greater use of technology, stronger public healthcare systems and improved coordination across health services. The Delhi government said the measures are intended to make healthcare more accessible while recognising the contribution of workers involved in delivering services across the city.
