A Kannada book fair featuring discounted sales will be held in Mysuru from October 11 to 20 as part of the Mysuru Dasara-2026 festivities, offering visitors an opportunity to explore and purchase a wide range of Kannada books. The fair will be organised at the Bharat Scouts and Guides grounds in the city and is expected to add a literary dimension to the annual Dasara celebrations. Karnataka Book Authority president Manasa said Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi would inaugurate the book fair. The event is being organised as part of the broader Dasara festivities, which attract visitors to Mysuru during the celebration period. The inclusion of a dedicated book fair is expected to provide readers with access to Kannada publications while also creating a platform for publishers to showcase their books.
Around 70 publishers are expected to participate in the fair, according to the organisers. A total of 90 stalls will be set up at the venue to accommodate the participating publishers and display their publications. The participation of publishers from different backgrounds is expected to provide visitors with a variety of books and give readers an opportunity to browse titles across different areas of Kannada literature.
