A fire broke out at Film City in Goregaon East, Mumbai, on Monday afternoon, October 5, disrupting shoots on multiple television sets and prompting actors and crew members to evacuate the affected areas. The fire started around 4 pm on the outer shade of a temporary setup being used for Pati Patni Aur Panga 2, located behind Prime Focus Studio. Smoke from the blaze subsequently reached adjoining sets, including those of Hustle Season 5 and Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), temporarily disrupting production activities across the television studio complex.

The incident affected several high-profile productions operating in close proximity to one another. Actor Amitabh Bachchan, who was shooting for KBC, was among those forced to evacuate as smoke spread towards the set. Rapper Badshah, associated with Hustle Season 5, was also affected by the disruption. The situation required people working on the adjoining sets to move out as a precaution while efforts were made to contain the fire and deal with the smoke. There were no immediate reports in the supplied information of injuries among the actors or crew members.

The blaze originated on a temporary structure being used as part of the Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 production. Such temporary setups are commonly created within studio premises to accommodate specific scenes and production requirements. In this case, the location of the setup meant that smoke could travel towards nearby shooting areas. As the smoke reached the adjoining sets, production on the other shows was disrupted, with the safety of the people present becoming the immediate priority.

The incident also affected the ongoing production schedule for Hustle Season 5. The show was preparing for its finale, but the fire and resulting smoke disrupted activities at the set. Badshah, who is associated with the programme, was among those affected by the evacuation. The disruption came at a particularly significant point in the production cycle because the finale involves multiple elements of filming and coordination. However, the available information did not indicate how long the shoot was halted or whether the finale schedule would need to be changed.

The KBC set was also affected after smoke from the fire reached the adjoining area. Amitabh Bachchan, who hosts the long-running quiz programme, was evacuated along with others working at the location. The spread of smoke across the studio premises meant that production activity could not continue normally while the situation was being addressed. The incident highlighted the challenges of operating multiple productions in close proximity within a large studio facility, where a fire originating in one temporary structure can quickly affect neighbouring sets.

Fire-related incidents on television and film sets can pose additional risks because temporary structures may contain electrical equipment, construction materials, lighting systems, props and other production infrastructure. The immediate response generally involves evacuating personnel and restricting access to the affected area until the situation is brought under control. In the Film City incident, the evacuation of actors and crew from the affected and adjoining sets helped clear the area as smoke spread through the premises. Details about the extent of damage to the temporary Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 setup were not immediately available.

The incident brought shooting activity at several sets to a temporary halt on Monday afternoon and affected three prominent television productions operating within the Film City complex. While the fire began at the temporary setup for Pati Patni Aur Panga 2, its impact extended to the sets of Hustle Season 5 and Kaun Banega Crorepati after smoke reached the adjoining areas. Amitabh Bachchan and Badshah were among the prominent names affected by the evacuation. Further details about the cause of the fire, the extent of property damage and the impact on the productions’ schedules were not immediately available.
