Jan Suraaj founder and Bankipur MLA Prashant Kishor has claimed that teachers and graduates in Bihar will vote for political change in the upcoming Legislative Council elections. Kishor made the remarks while campaigning in Patna for his party's candidates ahead of polling scheduled for October 23. He described teachers and graduates as important sections of the electorate and linked their concerns to demands for changes in governance and employment.
Jan Suraaj has fielded Anuj Kumar Singh from the Patna Graduates' constituency, where he is contesting against JD(U) candidate Neeraj Kumar. The party is contesting all eight seats being filled in the current Bihar Legislative Council elections. The seats cover four graduates' and four teachers' constituencies, with the election campaign now intensifying after the completion of the nomination process.
Kishor argued that teachers are seeking greater professional recognition, improvements in the education system and implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations. He also identified employment as a major concern among graduate youth. He said Jan Suraaj would focus its campaign on these issues and work to raise the demands of both groups through its candidates.

The Jan Suraaj leader also referred to his political base in Bankipur while campaigning for the Council elections. He claimed that the political change he associated with his electoral performance there would continue through the MLC polls. Kishor further criticised the Samrat Choudhary-led government, saying voters would seek an alternative through the upcoming elections. His remarks represent his campaign's assessment of voter sentiment rather than an established electoral outcome.
The Bihar Legislative Council elections cover eight seats, with polling scheduled for October 23 and counting set for October 27. The BJP and JD(U), as part of the NDA, have fielded candidates across the constituencies, while the RJD-led opposition and Jan Suraaj are also contesting several seats. With nominations now concluded, parties are focusing on voter outreach and campaigning among the eligible graduate and teacher electorates.
