Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is set to launch the ‘White T-Shirt Movement’ in Bihar on Monday, April 7, 2025, calling on the state’s youth to join in massive numbers.
Ahead of his visit to Begusarai for the ‘Palayan Roko, Naukri Do’ (Stop Migration, Provide Jobs) Yatra, the Leader of Opposition issued a video appeal on social media, urging young Biharis to don white T-shirts and amplify their voices against unemployment, inflation, and migration. “I’ll walk shoulder-to-shoulder with you to show the world the struggles and spirit of Bihar’s youth,” Gandhi said, encouraging participation to pressure the government for action.
First announced in January 2025, the movement symbolizes compassion, unity, non-violence, equality, and progress—values Gandhi ties to India’s heritage. It builds on his Bharat Jodo Yatras, aiming to combat inequality and empower the working class. In Bihar, where assembly elections loom later this year, the campaign targets pressing local issues, with Gandhi criticizing the central and state governments for neglecting job creation.
He invited youth to register at whitetshirt.in or call 9999812024, framing the yatra as a platform to reshape Bihar’s future.
The BJP hit back, with state chief Dilip Jaiswal mocking Gandhi’s track record, predicting another Congress “sinking” in Bihar. Meanwhile, the visit follows Congress’s recent appointment of new district presidents, signaling a strategic push. As Begusarai braces for Gandhi’s arrival, the white T-shirt emerges as a bold call to action for Bihar’s restless youth.
