Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has urged the Centre to approve several major road infrastructure projects, including a six-kilometre double-decker elevated corridor between L.B. Nagar and Hayatnagar in Hyderabad. He also sought immediate approval for the southern section of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), along with clearance for the Hyderabad-Amaravati Greenfield Expressway and other important projects.
Mr. Reddy submitted a representation outlining the State’s requirements to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat on Monday. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Chintan Shivir, where the Telangana Minister presented the State’s case for central support for road infrastructure projects considered important for improving connectivity and easing traffic-related challenges.
One of the key demands was the construction of a six-kilometre double-decker elevated corridor connecting L.B. Nagar and Hayatnagar. The proposed corridor is intended to address traffic congestion along the busy stretch in Hyderabad and improve the movement of vehicles between the two areas. The State government has sought the Centre’s support to take up the project.

The Minister also urged the Union government to accord immediate approval to the southern section of the Regional Ring Road around Hyderabad. The project is expected to strengthen connectivity around the city and improve links between different parts of the region. Approval of the Hyderabad-Amaravati Greenfield Expressway was another major demand included in the representation.
Mr. Reddy said support for these projects would help accelerate economic growth and improve connectivity between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The proposed road infrastructure is also expected to strengthen access to tourist destinations and improve movement between important economic and urban centres. The State has been seeking greater investment in road infrastructure to meet growing transportation requirements.
The representation also covered other crucial road infrastructure projects sought by Telangana from the Centre. The Minister’s demands come against the backdrop of increasing traffic pressure in Hyderabad and the need for improved regional connectivity. The State government is now seeking central approvals and support to move forward with the proposed projects and strengthen road infrastructure across Telangana.
