Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday said the last 365 days had “changed the course” of the national capital, asserting that her government’s policy interventions and administrative reforms had set Delhi on a new developmental trajectory. Addressing a public event marking one year in office, Gupta highlighted achievements across infrastructure, public services and governance.
The chief minister said her administration prioritised fiscal discipline, faster project execution and citizen-centric delivery mechanisms. She pointed to improvements in road infrastructure, expansion of public health facilities and streamlining of civic services as key milestones. According to Gupta, the government focused on restoring administrative efficiency while ensuring transparency in decision-making.
Gupta also emphasised measures aimed at improving urban living conditions, including sanitation drives, water supply augmentation and pollution mitigation initiatives. She stated that coordinated efforts with municipal bodies and central agencies had accelerated stalled projects and reduced bureaucratic delays. The chief minister described the past year as a period of “structural correction” intended to create long-term impact rather than short-term optics.

On the economic front, she cited steps taken to encourage investment, support small businesses and expand employment opportunities. The administration, she said, worked to strengthen digital governance systems to enhance accountability and reduce service delivery gaps. Welfare schemes targeting vulnerable sections were also streamlined to ensure timely benefits, she added.
Opposition leaders, however, questioned the government’s performance claims, arguing that several civic challenges persist. Despite criticism, Gupta maintained that measurable progress had been achieved within a short span. As Delhi navigates complex urban demands, the chief minister said the coming year would focus on consolidating reforms and sustaining momentum in the capital’s development agenda
