The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory ahead of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) programme marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life, with traffic restrictions and diversions expected on several major roads in the national capital on Wednesday morning. The programme, being organised by the Delhi BJP, is expected to draw a large number of party workers, supporters and vehicles. In view of the anticipated movement towards the venue, traffic will be regulated at multiple locations depending on prevailing road conditions and operational requirements. The restrictions are scheduled to remain in force from 5 am to 1 pm, particularly around the Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex, where the main ‘Seva Jyoti’ programme will be held. Motorists travelling through central and eastern parts of Delhi during these hours have been advised to factor in possible delays and changes in traffic movement while planning their journeys.
The traffic arrangements have been planned as BJP workers and supporters from organisational mandals across Delhi are expected to participate in processions before converging at the Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex. The movement of these groups, along with the expected arrival of a significant number of vehicles, is likely to increase traffic volume on roads leading towards and around the venue. The Delhi Traffic Police said traffic movement will be regulated or diverted wherever necessary, depending on the situation on the ground. The advisory specifically covers several important arterial roads, including Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg (JLN Marg), Mahatma Gandhi Marg (Ring Road), Indraprastha Marg (IP Marg) and Vikas Marg. These routes are among the key corridors connecting different parts of central and eastern Delhi, and any restrictions on them could affect motorists travelling through the surrounding areas during the morning period.
According to the advisory, traffic regulation will also be carried out along important stretches of the Ring Road. The Shanti Van Crossing–Rajghat–Bhairon Marg stretch will face regulation on both carriageways of the Ring Road. These roads are expected to see additional movement as participants travel towards the programme venue. Traffic arrangements will also cover the stretch between the Geeta Colony Flyover, IP Flyover and Salimgarh Bypass. The affected corridors connect several important parts of the city and are regularly used by commuters travelling between central, eastern and adjoining areas of Delhi. As a result, traffic police personnel may regulate movement or introduce diversions based on congestion levels and the movement of processions and vehicles associated with the BJP event.

Other stretches mentioned in the traffic advisory include W-Point–Delhi Gate and Delhi Gate–Rajghat on JLN Marg. These stretches are likely to be monitored closely during the period of restrictions as traffic movement around the Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex is managed. The Delhi Traffic Police has indicated that the exact nature of regulation or diversion will depend on traffic conditions and operational requirements. This means that commuters may encounter changing traffic arrangements during the morning rather than a uniform restriction throughout the entire period. Motorists using the affected roads are therefore expected to follow instructions issued by traffic personnel at the spot and adjust their routes if diversions are introduced. The advisory is intended to facilitate the movement of participants while also managing regular traffic in areas surrounding the venue.
The BJP’s ‘Seva Jyoti’ programme is being organised as part of events marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life. The main programme at the Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex will be preceded by the movement of party workers and supporters from different organisational mandals in Delhi. Their convergence at a single venue has prompted the traffic police to make arrangements in advance to prevent congestion and regulate vehicle movement. The advisory covers the key roads likely to experience increased traffic because of the event, particularly routes approaching the stadium complex and adjoining corridors. Traffic personnel will remain responsible for implementing diversions or regulating vehicles as required, with the arrangements subject to changes depending on conditions during the event.
The Delhi Traffic Police has urged commuters to take the advisory into account before setting out on Wednesday morning, particularly those whose regular routes pass through the listed roads and intersections. Motorists travelling between 5 am and 1 pm should be prepared for regulated traffic, diversions or slower movement in and around the affected corridors. The police said traffic arrangements will be implemented according to operational requirements and the conditions prevailing at the time. Commuters can therefore expect traffic management measures to remain flexible as the BJP processions and participants move towards and away from the venue. Those travelling through the affected parts of Delhi during the advisory period are advised to cooperate with traffic personnel and follow directions on the ground to help maintain smooth movement and minimise disruption.
