A woman from Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, has reignited allegations of harassment against BJP MLA Hans Raj, claiming he sent obscene messages, demanded nude photos, and threatened her family. In a tearful video circulating on social media, she accused the MLA’s wife of warning that he would “settle scores” once he becomes a minister. She filed an FIR last year and now says she’s being defamed and pressured to withdraw the complaint. “If anything happens to my family, I won’t spare him,” she warned, declaring her life already “ruined” by the legislator.
Hans Raj, the Churah MLA, dismissed the claims, calling the woman “like my daughter” and insisting the allegations are a repeat of last year’s accusations, which police investigated and closed. He labeled the video a “sinister move” to spark communal tension and tarnish his rising political image. The BJP leader vowed to file a defamation case and urged authorities to probe what he called a conspiracy to halt development in his constituency.
The woman alleged that powerful locals tried to silence her by spreading rumors she was paid to fabricate the charges. She claimed relentless intimidation, including threats to her family’s safety, and accused the MLA of abusing his influence. Despite the earlier police closure report, she insists the harassment continues and refuses to back down, saying she has “nothing left to lose.”

Hans Raj maintained that the timing of the video—amid his growing prominence in Chamba—proves it’s politically motivated. He argued that such baseless claims aim to derail infrastructure projects and public welfare initiatives in Churah. The MLA called for a thorough investigation to “get to the root” and clear his name, while distancing himself from any wrongdoing.
As the controversy escalates, local police have yet to comment on the new video or potential reopening of the case. With communal and political undertones, the standoff risks deepening divisions in the region. Both sides dig in—her fight for justice, his battle for reputation—leaving the truth buried in conflicting narratives.
