India Yamaha Motor on Friday announced a voluntary recall of more than three lakh scooter units to address a potential issue related to the front brake system. The recall affects two popular models, the RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid, which are widely sold across the country.
According to a company statement, the recall covers 306,635 units manufactured between May 2, 2024, and September 3, 2025. The campaign has come into effect immediately and applies to scooters currently in circulation as well as those yet to undergo servicing checks.
Yamaha said the recall was initiated after it identified that, under certain operating conditions, the front brake caliper may exhibit limited functionality in a select number of vehicles. While the company did not report any accidents linked to the issue, it stated that the step was being taken as a precautionary measure to ensure customer safety and maintain product quality standards.

As part of the recall, the affected brake component will be inspected and replaced free of cost at authorised Yamaha service centres. The company has assured customers that the process will be carried out at no expense and with minimal inconvenience to vehicle owners.
India Yamaha Motor said it will reach out to customers directly through its dealer network and digital channels, advising them on how to schedule service appointments. Owners have also been encouraged to check whether their scooter is part of the recall by contacting authorised dealerships.
The company reiterated its commitment to customer safety and said voluntary recalls are part of its broader quality assurance framework. Yamaha added that it continues to monitor product performance closely and takes corrective action whenever a potential concern is identified.
