Mahindra has expanded its special-edition portfolio with the launch of the Thar Roxx Star Edition in India, priced at ₹16.85 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and going up to ₹18.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The new edition is positioned as a cosmetic upgrade over the standard Thar Roxx, continuing Mahindra’s strategy of offering limited-run variants such as the Ebony Edition and Black Edition to keep its SUV lineup fresh and appealing.
The Thar Roxx Star Edition focuses primarily on visual enhancements while retaining the same mechanical setup as the regular model. The most noticeable change is the extensive use of blacked-out elements. The SUV now features black alloy wheels with a metallic finish, replacing the dual-tone wheels offered on the standard top-end variant. This is complemented by a darker exterior treatment that gives the SUV a more aggressive and premium stance.
Other exterior elements, including the grille, bumpers, and lighting layout, remain unchanged. To distinguish the special edition, Mahindra has added a Star Edition badge on the tailgate, styled in a font similar to the Thar Roxx branding. Buyers can choose from three exterior colour options: Tango Red, Everest White, and Stealth Black.

Inside the cabin, the Star Edition continues the dark theme with a black dashboard and black leatherette upholstery. However, Mahindra has retained the beige roof liner and sections of the beige door panels, creating a dual-tone interior. This setup sets it apart from the Ivory White and Mocha Brown interior themes available on the standard Thar Roxx.
In terms of features, the SUV remains well-equipped, offering front ventilated seats, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a rear parking camera, and six airbags, among others.
Mechanically, there are no changes. The Thar Roxx Star Edition is offered with a choice of a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine or a 2.2-litre diesel engine, both available with manual and automatic transmissions. Mahindra is offering the Star Edition exclusively with a rear-wheel-drive configuration, aiming to make the model more accessible while preserving its rugged SUV appeal.
