Bihar Police have arrested four individuals for allegedly running a racket involved in selling fake question papers of competitive examinations, including the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), to students and their parents in Muzaffarpur district. Officials said the accused were part of a wider network that used social media platforms to deceive aspirants by falsely promising access to examination papers.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Harsh, Aman Kumar, Kanhaiya Kumar and Harsh Kanodiya. Police confirmed that they were taken into custody on Saturday evening, and three mobile phones were seized from their possession as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.
According to Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police Kantesh Kumar Mishra, the group was actively engaged in defrauding candidates by circulating false claims on social media about their ability to provide question papers for various examinations. He said the accused targeted desperate students and their families, exploiting their anxiety over competitive exams.

The arrests were made following information provided by an earlier accused, Manish Jha, who was detained on June 2 from the Balu Ghat area under Sikandarpur police station limits on similar charges. Police said the newly arrested individuals were associates of Jha and were operating as part of the same network.
During interrogation, the accused reportedly admitted to their involvement and revealed that money collected from victims was transferred through online banking channels before being routed to Manish Jha. Investigators said the group used digital platforms to reach potential victims and create false assurances about exam paper access.
Police officials have stated that further investigation is underway to identify additional members of the network and determine the full extent of the fraud. Authorities have also urged students and parents to remain cautious of such scams and rely only on official sources for examination-related information.
