Over 100 schools across the national capital were thrown into chaos on Saturday morning after receiving bomb threat emails, which authorities later declared a hoax following comprehensive inspections. The emails, sent at 6:10 AM by a group identifying itself as 'Terrorizers111,' bore the alarming subject line: "Bombs Placed in Your Building - React or Face the Disaster."
The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) reported receiving alerts about 10 schools, including prominent institutions like Delhi Public School (DPS) in Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, CRPF Public School in Dwarka, and Mata Vidya Devi Public School in Najafgarh. Police and bomb disposal squads were promptly dispatched to the affected campuses, where students and staff were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
After thorough searches, a senior police officer confirmed, “We have thoroughly checked the campuses. Nothing suspicious has been found.” Authorities are now investigating the origin of the threats, suspecting a coordinated attempt to incite panic. Sources in the police noted that the same group had previously sent similar threatening emails to schools, raising concerns about recurring attempts to disrupt public safety in the capital.
