Lionel Messi’s GOAT India Tour reached New Delhi on Monday, marking the fourth and final leg of his India visit after stops in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. Fans erupted in cheer as the Argentine superstar touched down at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, setting the stage for a day full of football and celebrations.
The Delhi programme includes a celebrity football match, a football clinic for 30 children, a stage ceremony, and several private high-profile meetings. Notable personalities, including cricketer Virat Kohli, are expected to attend, adding to the star-studded nature of the event.
Gates at Arun Jaitley Stadium opened at 11:30 am, with media personnel directed to enter through Gate No. 6. The official proceedings began at 2:30 pm with welcome music, followed by the celebrity football match at 2:50 pm, in which Messi is slated to participate at 3:30 pm.

The football clinic will begin at 3:45 pm, providing children an opportunity to interact with the football legend. A stage ceremony, along with the GOAT Cup exhibition match, is scheduled for 4:20 pm, showcasing Messi’s skills and engaging fans across all age groups.
Messi is also expected to take part in private meet-and-greet sessions at 4:30 pm, including interactions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the Chief Justice of India, highlighting the diplomatic and symbolic importance of his visit.
In anticipation of the large crowds, Delhi Traffic Police have implemented traffic restrictions across central Delhi from 12:00 am to 5:00 pm. Parking around the stadium has been prohibited, with towing and penalties in place. Authorities have urged the public to use public transport, including the Metro and buses, to avoid congestion and ensure smooth movement.
