Workers’ protests resumed on Wednesday in Sector 63, Block A of Noida, as tensions continued over wage-related demands, prompting a heavy deployment of police personnel to maintain law and order in the industrial area. Authorities reported that the gathering was quickly dispersed by police teams stationed at the site.
The agitation over wage hikes has been ongoing for several days across multiple industrial pockets of Noida. On Tuesday, security arrangements had already been strengthened in several areas, with the administration maintaining heightened vigilance to prevent further escalation of unrest.

As part of preventive measures, stricter security arrangements are being implemented at factory premises. Barbed wire fencing is being installed along industrial unit boundaries, while gates are being reinforced to enhance safety. Several factories have also put up notices informing workers about minimum wage entitlements as part of efforts to address grievances and improve communication.
The protests initially began on Monday when workers across industrial sectors in Noida staged demonstrations over low wages and demands for salary revision. The situation escalated in parts of the Phase 2 industrial area, where incidents of vandalism, stone-pelting, and road blockades were reported, severely disrupting traffic movement on key routes including the Noida Link Road and access roads from the Chilla Border connecting Delhi and Noida.
In response to the unrest, the Uttar Pradesh government announced revised minimum wage rates for different categories of workers, aiming to address concerns and restore normalcy. Officials also stated that around 300 individuals have been arrested in connection with the violence, while revised wage structures now include increased pay across unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled labour categories, along with dearness allowance adjustments.
