On National Space Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ignited excitement among India’s scientific community by announcing ambitious plans for deep space exploration to unlock cosmic secrets for humanity’s benefit. In a spirited video address, Modi urged space scientists to gear up for missions that venture beyond the moon and Mars, emphasizing India’s growing role in unraveling the mysteries of the universe.
“We’ve conquered the moon and Mars; now, deep space awaits us, holding secrets that can shape humanity’s future,” Modi declared, addressing a vibrant gathering of scientists, students, and policymakers in New Delhi. He revealed that India is building a robust pool of astronauts to lead future missions, inviting the nation’s youth to join this elite group. “The endless universe teaches us there’s no final frontier, and our space policies must reflect that ambition,” he added.
Modi highlighted India’s strides in cutting-edge technologies, including electric propulsion and semi-cryogenic engines, paving the way for the upcoming Gaganyaan mission and the construction of India’s own space station. “Thanks to our scientists’ relentless efforts, these milestones are within reach,” he said, applauding their dedication.
