Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the recently concluded Mahakumbh in Prayagraj as a testament to India’s unity in diversity during a Lok Sabha statement on Tuesday.
Calling it an “important milestone,” Modi said, “The entire world witnessed the grandeur of India during the Mahakumbh and the religious gathering reflected the spirit of rising India,” countering skeptics who doubted the nation’s ability to host such a massive event.
“I bow to the crores of people of the country who contributed to the success of the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj,” he remarked, emphasizing its embodiment of the ‘sabka saath’ philosophy—collective participation. Modi highlighted how the event, which drew over 48 crore pilgrims across 49 days ending March 10, showcased India’s cultural depth. “The Mahakumbh proved that unity in diversity runs deep in India’s culture,” he asserted.
He praised the younger generation’s engagement, noting, “India’s new generation connected with the Mahakumbh, embracing traditions and faith with pride.” The address underscored Modi’s vision of a resurgent India blending heritage with modernity on a global stage.
