A massive fire erupted in the early hours of Saturday in the Pleasant Park area of Mira Road (East), near Jangid Estate in the Mira-Bhayander region of Mumbai. The intense blaze rapidly engulfed a large stretch of the locality, causing panic among residents. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far.

Videos circulating on social media captured dramatic visuals of towering flames and thick black smoke visible from several hundred metres away. One widely shared video, recorded from a distance of nearly 400 to 500 metres, highlighted the severity and scale of the inferno, alarming residents across nearby areas.

Following the alert, fire brigade and police teams were immediately rushed to the spot. Emergency services launched an extensive firefighting operation that continued for several hours, as firefighters battled challenging conditions to prevent the fire from spreading further.

Police swiftly cordoned off the affected zone to ensure public safety and to allow emergency personnel unhindered access. Residents from nearby buildings were seen standing at a safe distance, anxiously watching as firefighters worked relentlessly to bring the blaze under control.

The cause of the fire remains uncertain, and authorities have initiated preliminary assessments to determine its origin. Officials said a detailed investigation will be conducted once the site is fully secured and cooled down.

The incident comes just days after another fire was reported near Mira Road, when an iron tank storing asphalt material caught fire at a scrapyard in Bhayander Pada. According to Thane Disaster Management Cell chief Yasin Tadvi, that blaze was extinguished within hours with no injuries, raising renewed concerns over fire safety in the region.
