ICICI Foundation, the CSR arm of ICICI Bank, has partnered with IIT Kanpur to develop the ICICI Digital Health Stack (ICICI-DHS), a technology-driven platform aimed at strengthening India’s public healthcare system through integrated digital tools, medical research, and innovation. ICICI Foundation has committed Rs 34 crore to support the initiative, which seeks to deliver evidence-based, person-focused, and digitally enabled healthcare across Uttar Pradesh, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
IIT Kanpur Director Prof. Manindra Agarwal highlighted the project’s progress, noting the successful deployment of the Real-Time Bed Availability and Referral Portal (RT-BARP) during the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. “RT-BARP ensured better preparedness and improved medical accessibility for millions of pilgrims,” Agarwal said. The portal, integrated with 108 ambulance services and 104 hospitals, facilitated real-time bed allocation and patient transfers, managing over 1.2 lakh medical consultations during the event. ICICI-DHS aims to address evolving healthcare challenges by scaling such solutions nationwide.
ICICI Bank Chairman Pradeep Kumar Sinha emphasized the role of technology in inclusive healthcare, stating, “The ICICI Digital Health Stack will build a future-ready, digitally aligned healthcare ecosystem for public welfare.” The platform integrates AI-driven diagnostics, telemedicine, and data analytics to enhance healthcare delivery in rural and urban areas. This follows ICICI Foundation’s earlier collaborations, including a Rs 100 crore donation in 2024 for medical research at IIT Kanpur’s SIIC.
