A day after a devastating car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort killed 13 people and injured many, Karnataka's political arena erupted into fierce accusations between Congress and BJP leaders. Congress minister Priyank Kharge demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately sack Union Home Minister Amit Shah, labeling his tenure a series of law and order failures with no accountability. He accused the BJP of deflecting blame through online campaigns instead of addressing internal security lapses.
Kharge claimed Shah retains his position only due to possessing sensitive intelligence on Modi, challenging the Prime Minister to prove transparency by taking decisive action. Congress MLC BK Hariprasad echoed this, stating repeated terror incidents under the current regime expose Shah's incompetence, urging his immediate resignation on moral grounds. He highlighted the BJP's past demands for resignations when in opposition, questioning their current silence.
BJP leaders countered by attacking the Karnataka Congress government, with Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka alleging that appeasement politics toward the Muslim community has fueled radicalization, citing educated individuals turning to terrorism. He pointed to convicts in Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara prison enjoying luxuries like mobile phones under Congress rule, demanding state Home Minister G Parameshwara's resignation and thorough public safety inspections.

BJP MLC CT Ravi defended the central leadership, praising Modi's surgical strikes and Operation Sindoor as decisive anti-terror measures. He criticized Congress for enabling jailed terrorists with communication access and referenced past legal representation of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. Ravi asserted that the Modi-Shah duo is working to eradicate terrorism at its roots.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar avoided direct blame, stating the blast could have been prevented with stronger action post-Pulwama, emphasizing the need to focus on saving lives and restoring public confidence. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao urged Modi and Shah to prioritize national security over Bihar election politics, calling for a serious investigation into the Delhi incident.
