Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the rapid growth of mobile phone manufacturing in the state, stating that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a major electronics production hub under the current industrial policy framework. He made the remarks while laying the foundation stone for a solar unit in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
The Chief Minister said the state’s industrial transformation is linked to improved infrastructure development and central government support for manufacturing projects. He highlighted the proposed industrial corridor between Kanpur and Jhansi, spread across 56,000 acres, as a key example of large-scale planning aimed at boosting industrial expansion in the state.
Adityanath said that approvals and clearances from the Union government had played a crucial role in accelerating development projects. He specifically acknowledged Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav for timely approvals related to the industrial corridor proposal, stating that coordinated efforts between the Centre and the state have helped speed up implementation.

He also contrasted the current investment climate with earlier conditions in the state, stating that improved law and order has been a major factor in attracting industrial investment. Referring to Jewar, he said the region had transformed from what he described as “Jungle Raj” to “Mangal Raj,” reflecting a shift toward stability and investor confidence.
The Chief Minister further highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s focus on green energy development, stating that the state aims to generate 20,000 MW of renewable energy in the coming years, up from the current 6,000 MW. He said efforts are also underway to expand production of ethanol, CNG, and biogas from agricultural waste, with the dual aim of boosting energy output and reducing stubble burning.
He added that Uttar Pradesh has become the largest producer of ethanol in the country, contributing around 55 per cent of national output. Adityanath also said the state government has cleared ₹3.22 lakh crore in dues to sugarcane farmers over the past nine years, crediting policy reforms for improving the financial health of sugar mills and supporting rural livelihoods.
