A Class 10 student from a Bengaluru suburb met a heartbreaking end on Saturday night after returning from a pub outing with school friends. Around 9 pm, CCTV footage captured him entering his apartment on Dr Vishnuvardhan Road, taking the elevator alone to the seventh floor. Instead of heading inside, he allegedly went straight to the balcony and jumped at approximately 9:40 pm. Police ruled out an accidental fall due to the high balcony railings, classifying it as a likely suicide pending full investigation.
The minor had spent the evening at Legacy Brewing Company, where he allegedly consumed alcohol and smoked with friends despite being underage. Upon probing, police registered a case against the pub owners and staff for serving liquor to minors, initiating license cancellation proceedings. The management denied the claims, insisting the boy brought his own alcohol and that they followed all protocols. CCTV from the pub is under scrutiny to verify these statements and reconstruct the night's events.
Friends dropped the boy at the apartment entrance before leaving, as seen on building surveillance. He appeared unsteady but walked unaided to the elevator. No immediate signs of distress were noted, though investigators suspect intoxication played a role. The family was devastated, unaware of his outing until the tragic discovery.

Police are delving into motives, exploring if fear of parental confrontation over drinking, academic pressures from Class 10 board exams, or personal troubles triggered the act. Statements from friends, family, and brewery staff are being recorded. Forensic analysis and full CCTV review aim to clarify the sequence.
This incident highlights growing concerns over underage drinking in Bengaluru's nightlife spots. Authorities urge stricter enforcement on pubs and warn parents about teen vulnerabilities. The investigation continues, with updates expected soon as evidence mounts.
