Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Kerala’s ruling CPI(M)-led LDF and Congress-led UDF, accusing them of fostering corruption, appeasement politics, and turning the state into a safe haven for “anti-national forces” like the banned Popular Front of India (PFI). Speaking at a BJP workers’ meeting at Putharikandam Maidan, Shah emphasized that only the BJP-led NDA can drive Kerala’s development, unveiling the party’s ‘Viksit Keralam’ mission logo to underscore this goal.
Shah criticized the Kerala government for failing to ban PFI, noting that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who outlawed the group in 2022 and arrested its leaders. He contrasted BJP’s focus on state development with CPI(M)’s alleged prioritization of cadre interests. Shah expressed confidence in BJP forming a government in Kerala in the 2026 Assembly polls, citing successes in opposition strongholds like Assam and Tripura.
Ahead of local and assembly elections, Shah inaugurated the BJP’s new state office, Mararji Bhavan, and paid tributes to late BJP leader K G Marar, joined by state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar and other senior leaders.
