The United Nations has reported that 63,000 metric tonnes of food—enough to sustain 1.1 million people in Gaza for two to three months—remains stranded due to a 12-day aid blockade. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that the closure of all border crossings has halted both humanitarian and commercial supplies, crippling relief efforts.
The World Food Programme (WFP) highlighted that its food stocks, stored or in transit regionally, cannot reach Gaza. Inside the territory, WFP has supplies to support bakeries and kitchens for a month and ready-to-eat parcels for 500,000 people for two weeks—quantities already reduced before a ceasefire to stretch resources. Beyond food, shortages of fuel, oxygen, and generators threaten hospital operations, with over two dozen health centers critically under-equipped.
In the West Bank, OCHA warned of escalating settler violence, displacing over 2,000 Palestinians in two years and heightening risks for communities. An ongoing eight-week Israeli military operation in the northern West Bank has displaced hundreds more, including 500 from Jenin this week alone, amid raids on 10 mosques. Food insecurity is surging due to restricted access and displacement.
Additionally, demolitions of Palestinian structures in the West Bank have spiked, surpassing last year’s Ramadan total in just 10 days. The UN and its partners are sounding the alarm as humanitarian needs mount, urging an end to blockades and violence to avert further crisis.
