The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has announced free, one-month online internship programmes in the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector, aimed at providing practical exposure and job-orientated skills to students and young aspirants across the country.
The initiative is open primarily to Class 12 pass candidates, though several programmes also accept applicants who have completed Class 10, as well as graduates and post-graduates. Conducted entirely online, the internships are designed to make professional financial education accessible without cost, particularly for learners seeking entry-level exposure to taxation, finance, and capital markets.
Among the offerings is the GST Proficient Internship Program, a one-month course that introduces participants to Goods and Services Tax laws, return filing procedures, documentation requirements, and core taxation skills. The programme is open to candidates from Class 10 onwards and focuses on building a foundational understanding of India’s indirect tax framework.

The Income Tax Specialist Internship Program, also spanning one month, covers income tax laws, tax filing procedures, compliance requirements, audits, and recent regulatory changes. This programme is intended to equip participants with practical knowledge relevant to tax preparation and compliance-related roles.
For those interested in accounting and corporate finance, the Financial Reporting Internship offers training in preparing and analysing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, along with exposure to GAAP and IFRS standards. Additionally, the ministry is offering advanced programmes in Stock Market Analysis and Trading, focusing on technical analysis, market trends, trading strategies, and risk management.
Another specialised option is the Advanced Financial Modelling and Valuation Internship, which provides hands-on learning in Excel-based financial modelling, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, valuation techniques, and real-world case studies relevant to investment decision-making. Interested candidates have been advised to apply through the official website of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, where detailed programme information, eligibility criteria, and application procedures are available.
