A domestic help was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a residential area of Ghaziabad, with police saying initial findings suggest the case may be a suicide. The body was discovered inside a house where the woman was employed, prompting authorities to launch an investigation.
According to police officials, the woman had been working at the residence for some time. She was found unresponsive by members of the household, who alerted local authorities. A police team reached the scene shortly thereafter and secured the area for preliminary examination. The body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Investigators said there were no immediate signs of forced entry or struggle at the location. However, officers are examining all possible angles, including personal, financial, and workplace-related factors. Statements of the employer and other individuals present in the house at the time are being recorded as part of the standard inquiry process.

Police added that they are also speaking with the woman’s family members to determine whether she had shown signs of distress in recent days. Officials stressed that while suicide is being considered as a primary line of investigation, conclusions will depend on forensic findings and further evidence.
Incidents involving domestic workers often raise broader concerns about working conditions, mental health support, and social vulnerabilities faced by migrant labourers in urban centres. Authorities have urged the public not to speculate and said legal action will follow if any foul play is established.
