The autopsy of former merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput has laid bare the chilling savagery inflicted upon him, allegedly by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla.
The post-mortem report, released today, paints a grim picture: Rajput’s head was severed, both hands were hacked off at the wrists, and his legs were grotesquely bent backward—apparent efforts to cram his dismembered body into a drum.
The cause of death was shock and excessive bleeding, stemming from a ferocious attack that saw him stabbed in the heart three times with a long, sharp knife.
The brutality unfolded on March 4, when Rajput was allegedly drugged, stabbed, and dismembered. His killers then sealed his remains in a cement-filled drum, a macabre attempt to hide the crime. While Muskan and Sahil vacationed in Himachal Pradesh, they sent deceptive messages from Rajput’s phone to mislead his family. The ruse unraveled on March 18 when police, alerted by a complaint, arrested the duo after discovering the drum.
Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh confirmed the gruesome findings: “Muskan stabbed Saurabh in the heart with brutal force, puncturing it. His neck was severed, palms cut off, and the body chopped into four pieces to fit the drum.”
Doctors noted the cement preserved the body, stifling decomposition and masking the stench, complicating detection. The drum required cutting open to extract the remains.
Rajput and Muskan married in 2016 despite familial opposition, sharing a six-year-old daughter. Their relationship soured as Muskan rekindled ties with childhood acquaintance Sahil via WhatsApp in 2019. Rajput’s family alleges her neglect and drug use fueled the rift, culminating in this horrifying betrayal. The case continues to shock Meerut, exposing the depths of human cruelty.
