The box office performance of “Bhooth Bangla”, starring Akshay Kumar, has drawn strong attention from trade analysts as the horror-comedy continues its global run, nearing the ₹100-crore mark within just a few days of release.
Released on April 17, the film has maintained steady momentum at the box office over its first three days. Directed by Priyadarshan, “Bhooth Bangla” features Akshay Kumar in a dual role as Arjun Acharya and Madhav Acharya. The film also features Wamiqa Gabbi in a double role, alongside a prominent ensemble cast including Paresh Rawal, Jisshu Sengupta, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, and Mithila Palkar. Late actor Asrani also appears in a key role.
According to trade tracking data, the film collected around ₹7 crore from overseas markets on its third day, taking its total international earnings to approximately ₹26.5 crore. On the domestic front, the film recorded a strong Sunday performance, earning about ₹23 crore across more than 11,000 shows.

With this, the film’s total India gross has reached approximately ₹69.37 crore, while the India net collection stands at around ₹58 crore. When combined with overseas earnings, the worldwide gross has climbed to roughly ₹95.87 crore, placing the film just short of the ₹100-crore global milestone.
Industry observers note that the film’s steady weekend performance has been supported by strong audience turnout in multiplexes and single-screen theatres alike. The horror-comedy genre, combined with Akshay Kumar’s mass appeal and ensemble casting, has contributed to sustained footfall during its opening weekend.
Ahead of the film’s release, Akshay Kumar also paid an emotional tribute to veteran actor Asrani, sharing behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot. In his note, he reflected on their long professional association across multiple films and described Asrani’s comedic timing as a “masterclass” in performance, highlighting his lasting influence on Indian cinema.
“Bhooth Bangla” has been jointly produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa Kapoor under the banners of Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films. With collections nearing the ₹100-crore global mark, the film is expected to continue its box office run in the coming days.
