Himanshi Khurana has opened up about the religious conflict that shaped her relationship with Asim Riaz and eventually contributed to their separation. Speaking to Paras Chhabra on his podcast, Himanshi described how discussions about embracing her partner's religion made her question her own faith and identity. She did not name Asim during the conversation but referred to the relationship and the difficult choices they faced.
Himanshi and Asim met and developed a relationship during Bigg Boss 13. After being together for around four years, the couple announced their separation in December 2023, citing differences in their religious beliefs. Asim later confirmed that they had mutually decided to part ways because of their respective faiths. Himanshi has now explained that the issue became deeply personal for her, rather than being a reflection of any mistreatment by her partner.
According to Himanshi, her partner had discussed the positive aspects of his religion and encouraged her to understand and accept them. She clarified that he had never behaved badly with her, but she personally struggled with the possibility of changing her faith. She described feeling as though accepting another religion would mean betraying her relationship with God and recalled wanting to visit the Char Dham and other pilgrimage sites before making such a decision.

Himanshi also questioned whether faith could simply be changed through a formal decision when religious beliefs had been part of her upbringing for years. She explained that prayers and spiritual practices had become instinctive for her, making the idea of removing them from her life difficult to imagine. She also acknowledged that the same conflict could arise for her partner if their positions were reversed, because both had grown up with their respective religious traditions.
The discussion eventually led Himanshi to a deeply personal question about what would happen to her after death, reflecting the extent of the identity conflict she was experiencing. She stressed that people should have the freedom to make their own religious choices, while describing how difficult it was for her to imagine abandoning practices that had become part of her identity. Her reflections suggested that the relationship had forced her to examine questions about faith that she had previously never considered.
Himanshi also recalled undertaking the Kinnaur Kailash trek, which she described as one of the toughest journeys of her life. Despite the religious differences between the couple, she recalled that her partner supported her decision and was happy about her achievement. Her account presents the relationship as a period in which questions of love, faith and personal identity became closely intertwined, ultimately leading her to recognise the importance of remaining connected to the beliefs with which she had grown up.
