A purported price leak of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki India Limited e-Vitara has stirred discussion online after a website screengrab claimed the electric SUV could be priced at Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The image, widely circulated on social media, allegedly shows a listing from the brand’s website, though the company has not confirmed any official pricing.
The eVitara is set to be Maruti Suzuki’s first battery electric vehicle for the Indian market and is expected to share its underpinnings with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella. The model marks the automaker’s long-awaited entry into the mainstream EV space, a segment that has seen rapid expansion in recent years.
According to the viral post shared by Torque India on X, the screenshot displayed a price of Rs 24.79 lakh. However, the authenticity of the image remains unverified. Notably, the price does not currently appear on the official Nexa website, suggesting the listing may have been a technical glitch or placeholder that briefly went live.

Further doubts have emerged because the leaked figure reportedly matches both the starting and maximum price shown in the screenshot, an unusual pricing structure for a multi-variant SUV. Industry watchers caution that until Maruti Suzuki makes a formal announcement, the circulated figure should be treated as speculative.
If accurate, the quoted price would position the e-Vitara above several established electric SUV rivals. These include the Hyundai Creta Electric, the MG Windsor EV, the Mahindra BE6, and the Tata Curvv EV, all of which currently have lower entry prices.
With no official confirmation yet, prospective buyers and industry observers are expected to wait for Maruti Suzuki’s formal announcement to determine the e-Vitara’s actual market positioning.
