The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is tipped to feature a redesigned hinge aimed at significantly reducing the visible crease on the foldable display. The upcoming lineup is expected to include two book-style foldable smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the higher-end Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, although the company has yet to officially confirm the devices or their launch details.
According to tipster Ice Universe, both models could use a noticeably different hinge compared with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. The new mechanism is said to minimise the crease running through the middle of the folding screen, potentially addressing one of the most visible limitations of foldable smartphones and improving the overall appearance of the main display.
The folding and unfolding action of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is also expected to feel more decisive than that of the previous generation. This could mean users may not be able to keep the devices open as easily at certain angles. However, the display crease is claimed to be comparable to that of the Oppo Find N6, which has been noted for its near-crease-free foldable screen.

Recent leaks have also suggested possible European pricing and storage options for the upcoming devices. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 could reportedly start at EUR 1,999, roughly Rs 2.17 lakh, for the 256GB model. The 512GB and 1TB variants are tipped to cost EUR 2,199, around Rs 2.40 lakh, and EUR 2,599, approximately Rs 2.83 lakh, respectively.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to be positioned above the standard model, with its 256GB version reportedly starting at EUR 2,199, or about Rs 2.40 lakh. The 512GB model could be priced at EUR 2,399, roughly Rs 2.60 lakh, while the top-end 1TB variant is tipped to cost EUR 2,799, or approximately Rs 3 lakh.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is expected to succeed the Galaxy Z Fold 7 lineup and could be joined by the clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip 8. The upcoming generation is also tipped to include Samsung’s first wide-format foldable smartphone, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra may feature a triple rear camera setup. Samsung has not officially confirmed the specifications, pricing or launch schedule, meaning the leaked details should be treated as unofficial until a formal announcement is made.
