Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ability to forge strong relationships with global leaders, describing him as someone who “makes the impossible possible” during an event in New Delhi on Monday.
Speaking at the release of two compilations of Modi’s speeches, Radhakrishnan highlighted the prime minister’s close ties with US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping, despite geopolitical challenges, including a 50% US tariff on Indian goods.
In his first public address since assuming office, Radhakrishnan noted that Trump consistently refers to Modi as a “great friend”, even amid trade tensions. He also emphasised Modi’s rapport with Xi, despite international political differences, and his friendship with Putin, underscoring Modi’s diplomatic prowess. “That is why he makes the impossible possible,” Radhakrishnan said, crediting Modi’s selfless approach to governance, driven by a commitment to the masses without expecting personal gain.
Rajya Sabha Deputy Chair Harivansh, also present, commended Modi for speaking the language of the people and representing their aspirations. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw contrasted past government schemes, which he called superficial “band-aid” solutions, with Modi’s transformative, large-scale initiatives. Vaishnaw emphasised that Modi’s decisions prioritise public service and societal good, reshaping India’s policy landscape.
