A man was arrested along with another woman after allegedly attempting to drive away while his wife was on the bonnet of his car in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, police said. The incident occurred on Saturday evening in the Lohianagar area after the woman, identified as Sunita, allegedly confronted her husband Mayank after finding him with another woman. Police later registered a case following her complaint.
According to the complaint, Sunita reached Hapur Road after learning that Mayank was travelling in a car with a woman identified as Mahi. She confronted the two near a petrol pump and reportedly tried to get Mahi out of the vehicle. A dispute followed, after which Mayank allegedly drove the car away while Sunita was on the bonnet.
Police said the vehicle continued moving before people in the area intervened and brought it to a stop. Sunita alleged that the car was driven in a manner that endangered her life and that the vehicle was also allegedly taken towards a divider.
