Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of six labourers from Bihar in a water tank burst at a solar panel manufacturing factory in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The incident took place at the Butibori Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area, where a 15,000-litre water tank suddenly burst, killing six workers on the spot and seriously injuring nine others. Among the injured, three are reported to be in critical condition.
Nitish Kumar described the accident as extremely tragic, offering condolences to the bereaved families and praying for their strength during this difficult time. He also wished a speedy recovery for the injured and directed officials to ensure proper medical care for the victims from Bihar.

The Chief Minister instructed the Resident Commissioner of Bihar in Delhi to immediately assess the situation, provide all necessary assistance, and facilitate the smooth transportation of the deceased labourers’ bodies to their native villages. Authorities are working to ensure families receive support and guidance.
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Samrat Choudhary expressed his grief over the incident, emphasizing that the Bihar government is extending all possible help to the families of the deceased and injured. He also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured and peace for the departed.
Maharashtra authorities continue to investigate the cause of the water tank burst. An FIR has been registered against the plant manager, and district police are conducting a thorough probe while overseeing the treatment of the injured and assessing safety compliance at the factory.
