Haryana has reported significant progress in the ongoing Census 2027 houselisting and housing operations, with officials confirming that 100 per cent coverage has been achieved in several districts. The update comes as part of the state’s phased implementation of India’s first fully digital census, which is being conducted across multiple regions in the country.
According to official data shared by the state administration, field-level enumeration teams have successfully completed houselisting in a number of districts within the prescribed timeline. The achievement reflects the coordinated efforts of trained enumerators and supervisors who have been deployed across thousands of house listing blocks to ensure accurate data collection.
The houselisting exercise in Haryana is part of Phase I of Census 2027, which focuses on collecting detailed information on housing conditions, household assets, and basic amenities. The process is being carried out using a fully digital platform, where enumerators record data through a mobile application designed to streamline and standardize census operations.

Officials noted that the progress has been aided by strong administrative coordination and extensive training of field staff prior to the start of operations. Citizens were also given the option of self-enumeration earlier in the process, allowing them to submit household information online before door-to-door verification began.
Following the completion of houselisting in several districts, the next stage involves verification and completion of remaining areas where required. Authorities have emphasized that the census exercise remains ongoing in other parts of the state to ensure complete and accurate coverage across all regions.
The Haryana government has described the progress as an important milestone in the state’s transition to a digital census system, which aims to improve efficiency, reduce manual workload, and enhance the accuracy of population and housing data used for policy planning and development initiatives.
