The Bodoland People's Front (BPF), a key constituent of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has announced its first list of candidates for 11 seats in the upcoming Assam Assembly elections scheduled for 2026. The announcement, issued from the party's headquarters in Kokrajhar and signed by BPF President Hagrama Mohilary, targets key constituencies across the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). These include Gossaigaon, Dotma (ST), Kokrajhar (ST), Baokhungri, Parbotjhora, Sidli-Chirang (ST), Manas, Baksa (ST), Bhergaon, Udalguri (ST), and Mazbat, reflecting the party's focus on its traditional strongholds.
Prominent nominees include Sabharam Basumatary from Gossaigaon, Rabiram Narzary from Dotma (ST), Sewli Mohilary from Kokrajhar (ST), and Rupam Roy from Baokhungri. Other candidates are Dr. Rezul Karim for Parbotjhora, Paniram Brahma for Sidli-Chirang (ST), Thaneswar Basumatary for Manas, Maneswar Brahma for Baksa (ST), Maheswar Boro for Bhergaon, Rihon Daimary for Udalguri (ST), and Charan Boro for Mazbat.
The BPF's move signals its formal entry into the electoral contest amid intensifying political activity in Assam. As an NDA partner, the party is allocated these 11 seats under seat-sharing agreements, positioning it to leverage its influence in the BTR districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, Udalguri, and Tamulpur.

This development follows the BPF's strong performance in the 2025 Bodoland Territorial Council polls, where it secured 28 of 40 seats, reinforcing its dominance in the region. The party, founded in 2005, has historically advocated for Bodoland's development and autonomy.
The announcement underscores ongoing alliance dynamics, with BPF leaders criticizing rival NDA partners like the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) for independent moves. As campaigns heat up, these candidacies will play a crucial role in shaping Assam's political landscape ahead of the polls.
