Rajat Kapoor, who reprises his role as Mahesh Deshmukh in the upcoming Drishyam 3, has given a witty take on his character, admitting that he has “no arc” in the film. Kapoor, the onscreen husband of cop Meera Deshmukh (Tabu), told SCREEN that his role essentially involves “standing behind Tabu” throughout the story.
When asked about whether his character would gain depth in the third installment, Kapoor quipped, “There's nothing to crack. I was standing behind Tabu; that's it. I'm still standing behind Tabu.” His candid remark has sparked amusement among fans eager for the franchise’s next chapter.
Kapoor also reflected on his experience playing government officials in other films. He recalled portraying a senior Income Tax officer in Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 and a police officer in Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, noting that generic cop roles often leave little room for improvisation or depth.
