Raja Shivaji, starring Riteish Deshmukh, recorded a noticeable slowdown in collections on its first Monday, reflecting the typical weekday dip following a strong opening weekend. Despite the drop, the film continued to maintain a steady presence in theatres, particularly in its original Marathi version, which remains the primary driver of its box office performance.
According to early estimates, the film earned approximately ₹1.26 crore on Day 4 from over 2,400 shows across India. This brings its total India net collection to around ₹35.16 crore, while the gross domestic earnings have reached approximately ₹41.83 crore. The film’s consistent performance over the weekend laid a solid foundation, helping it sustain momentum even as weekday numbers declined.
A closer look at the language-wise performance reveals that the Marathi version continues to dominate collections. It contributed about ₹0.94 crore on Monday with relatively stronger occupancy rates compared to the Hindi version. In contrast, the Hindi release added ₹0.32 crore but struggled with significantly lower audience turnout, indicating a clear regional preference for the film.

Occupancy data further highlights this disparity, with Marathi screenings reporting better engagement, especially in key markets. Cities like Pune and Nashik recorded comparatively higher occupancy levels, while Mumbai showed moderate turnout. On the other hand, the Hindi version saw limited traction across most regions, with occupancy figures remaining in the single digits in several centres.
The film had opened strongly on its release, collecting ₹11.35 crore on Day 1, followed by ₹10.55 crore on Saturday and ₹12.00 crore on Sunday. This upward trend during the weekend showcased strong initial interest, particularly among audiences in Maharashtra, before settling into the expected weekday pattern.
Directed as a historical action drama, Raja Shivaji portrays the life and legacy of the legendary Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film features an ensemble cast including Genelia Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, and Vidya Balan, and continues its theatrical run following its release on May 1, 2026.
