BMW has opened bookings in India for the updated 7 Series and all-electric i7 ahead of their official launch, introducing refreshed styling, enhanced technology and upgraded powertrains for its flagship luxury sedan lineup. Customers can reserve the vehicles through BMW dealerships across the country or register their interest via the company's official website. The facelifted models arrive in India just over three months after making their global debut and are expected to strengthen BMW's position in the premium luxury sedan segment.
The refreshed BMW 7 Series features several exterior design updates aimed at giving the sedan a more modern appearance. At the front, it receives a redesigned illuminated kidney grille along with split LED headlamps featuring slim daytime running lights positioned above the main lighting units. The side profile retains its long-wheelbase silhouette with flush-fitting door handles, while new alloy wheel designs and an illuminated "7" insignia on the B-pillar add distinctive styling elements. At the rear, slimmer tail lamps, revised chrome detailing and a redesigned bumper complete the visual enhancements.
Inside, BMW has extensively upgraded the cabin with a technology-focused layout. The dashboard now houses a 17.9-inch central touchscreen, a 14.6-inch passenger display and a full-width projection display replacing the conventional instrument cluster. Running on BMW Operating System X, the infotainment system supports over-the-air software updates, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and enhanced voice controls. The luxury experience is further complemented by a redesigned four-spoke steering wheel inspired by classic BMW models.

Rear-seat comfort remains a major focus in the updated flagship sedan. The 7 Series is equipped with a 31.3-inch Theatre Screen that supports streaming, gaming and video calls, alongside a Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System. Powered and heated rear armrests, massage seats, improved ambient lighting and premium interior materials further enhance passenger comfort, reinforcing the model's position as BMW's flagship luxury offering.
Under the hood, the 740i xDrive petrol and 740d xDrive diesel continue with 3.0-litre inline-six mild-hybrid engines paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The petrol variant now produces 400 hp and 580 Nm of torque, while the diesel delivers 313 hp and 670 Nm. The electric i7 lineup has also been updated, with the i7 50 eDrive replaced by the i7 50 xDrive featuring all-wheel drive, a larger 112.4 kWh battery, 455 hp and 660 Nm. The range-topping i7 M70 xDrive now develops up to 680 hp and 1,100 Nm of torque.
BMW has not yet announced the official launch date or pricing for the facelifted 7 Series and i7 in India. However, bookings are now open ahead of their arrival in the market. Once launched, the updated models will compete with rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and EQS, while strengthening BMW's presence in both the luxury internal combustion engine and premium electric vehicle segments.
