Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday reviewed her party’s organisational preparedness in Uttar Pradesh, directing workers to strengthen booth-level structures and intensify groundwork ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The meeting, held at the BSP state office in Lucknow, focused on election strategy, organisational discipline, and outreach efforts across constituencies.
During the review, Mayawati instructed party functionaries to make preparations more “efficient and vigilant,” stating that the political environment was becoming increasingly challenging. She emphasised that strong grassroots mobilisation would be essential for the party’s revival in the state and reiterated the need for workers to remain active at the booth level to ensure better voter connect and coordination.
Party leaders present at the meeting, including booth in-charges and district and state-level office bearers, presented detailed reports on organisational progress, outreach activities, and internal funding structures. Mayawati expressed satisfaction over the implementation of earlier directives but warned against complacency, urging cadres to remain alert and disciplined as electoral competition intensifies in the state.

The BSP chief also reiterated her party’s ambition to form government in Uttar Pradesh for a fifth time, asserting that there was growing public support for the party. She urged workers to focus on unity and inclusiveness, invoking the party’s traditional slogan encouraging voters to support the “elephant” symbol, while stressing the importance of safeguarding every vote during the electoral process.
Referring to recent Assembly elections in other states, Mayawati said the BSP should learn from those outcomes as Uttar Pradesh approaches a crucial political phase. She accused rival parties of engaging in “diversionary and polarising politics” during elections while failing to address core issues such as inflation, unemployment, and public welfare after coming to power.
In her address, Mayawati also highlighted what she described as the importance of welfare-oriented governance, stating that governments must prioritise law and order, employment, and social harmony. Citing the legacy of BSP founder Kanshi Ram, she reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the principle of “Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay,” and appealed to voters to support the BSP’s return to power in the state.
