Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), the political party led by Tamil cinema icon Vijay, has begun distributing QR code-based identity cards for its inaugural general council meeting slated for March 28 in Chennai.
Party General Secretary N. Anand kicked off the process today, handing out the high-tech entry passes to district secretaries in the first phase, signaling a modern approach to organizing the landmark event.
Set to take place at the Ramachandra Convention Centre in Thiruvanmiyur at 9 a.m., the meeting marks a key milestone for TVK since its launch on February 2, 2024. Anand announced on X that Vijay will preside over the gathering, with invitations sent via email, WhatsApp, and post.
Members must present both the invite and their QR-coded ID for entry, ensuring a streamlined and secure check-in process—a system Vijay first introduced at TVK’s October 2024 state conference in Vikravandi.
The QR code initiative, which mirrors the party’s tech-savvy membership drive that enrolled over 50 lakh members by March 2024, underscores TVK’s push for efficiency and innovation. With the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in sight, this meeting is expected to refine the party’s roadmap, building on its secular, social justice-driven ideology unveiled last year.
As Vijay’s political star rises, all eyes are on how TVK will leverage its massive cadre base—bolstered by his cinematic fan following—to challenge the state’s entrenched political giants.
