United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in the national capital on Monday for a day-long visit, during which he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Prime Minister Modi are expected to review the full spectrum of India-UAE relations, including cooperation in trade, investment, energy, defence and emerging technologies. Discussions will also cover regional and global developments of mutual interest.
The visit comes at a time of evolving geopolitical dynamics in West Asia, including the UAE’s ongoing standoff with Saudi Arabia in Yemen, where the two former allies are backing rival groups. Officials indicated that regional stability and security issues are likely to feature prominently in the talks.
