The death toll in the Jaipur fire incident has risen to six after four more victims succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at SMS Hospital, officials confirmed on Tuesday. The fire, which broke out in a factory operating from a small residential structure in the Kho-Nagorian area, has left the city shaken as emergency response teams continue to assess the extent of the damage.

According to hospital authorities, a total of six patients were brought to Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital following the incident. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Pradeep Sharma said one of the victims was declared brought dead upon arrival, while the remaining patients were admitted in critical condition with severe burn injuries. Despite intensive treatment efforts, four of them later died due to the extent of their injuries.

Medical officials stated that the victims had sustained burns ranging between 75 and 100 percent, leaving them in an extremely critical condition from the outset. Doctors noted that the severity of the injuries significantly reduced the chances of survival, even with immediate emergency care and advanced medical intervention at the hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Sameer, Adib, Abdul Wahid, and Bilal, all of whom succumbed during treatment. Their families have been informed, and post-mortem procedures are expected to be completed as authorities continue formalities related to the incident. One other victim remains under observation, though details about their condition have not been fully disclosed.

Preliminary reports indicate that the fire erupted in a small-scale factory functioning inside a residential building in Jaipur’s Kho-Nagorian locality. Firefighters and police personnel rushed to the scene shortly after the blaze was reported, working to control the flames and evacuate those trapped inside. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be officially determined.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to ascertain whether safety violations or hazardous working conditions contributed to the blaze. Officials are also reviewing compliance measures at similar small-scale units operating in residential areas, as concerns grow over fire safety standards and enforcement in densely populated localities.
