Mizoram is making comprehensive arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit on September 13, 2025, including infrastructure enhancements and security measures, as he inaugurates key projects like the Bairabi-Sairang railway line and addresses public events.
Preparations are underway across Mizoram, with Chief Minister Lalduhoma holding a review meeting on Tuesday to oversee arrangements for the Prime Minister's second visit since 2014. The Aizawl Municipal Corporation has ordered the closure of roadside shops and offices along the Prime Minister's route, while beautification works are progressing in the state capital. Elaborate security and traffic management plans are in place to ensure a smooth event.
During the visit, Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the 51.38 km Bairabi-Sairang railway line, built at a cost of Rs 8,213.72 crore, featuring 48 tunnels and numerous bridges. He will flag off train services to Delhi, Kolkata, and Guwahati; address a public meeting at Aizawl's Lammual; lay foundation stones for six development projects; and inaugurate two educational institutions. Officials noted that this railway will reduce travel times significantly, linking Mizoram to the national network for the first time.
