The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted two back-to-back flight trials of the Pralay missile system on July 28 and 29 from Dr Abdul Kalam Island, off Odisha’s coast. Launched from a mobile platform, the second test occurred at approximately 9:35 AM on Tuesday.
Both missiles followed their intended quasi-ballistic trajectories, striking designated targets with exceptional precision. The trials, part of User Evaluation Tests, confirmed the missile’s capabilities at both maximum and minimum ranges. According to defence sources, all subsystems, including control, guidance, and mission algorithms, performed flawlessly.
DRDO announced the achievement on X, stating, “The successful trials validate the Pralay missile’s pinpoint accuracy and reliability.” These tests mark a significant milestone in enhancing India’s missile technology, showcasing the Pralay’s potential as a highly effective, precision-guided weapon system.
