Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship initiative, Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC), has etched its name in the Guinness World Records for achieving the “Most people registered on a Citizen Engagement Platform in one month,” with a staggering 3.53 crore valid registrations for its eighth edition, the Ministry of Education announced on Monday. The record was officially adjudicated by Guinness representative Rishi Nath at a ceremony in New Delhi, where the certificate was presented to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alongside Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Jitin Prasada.
Pariksha Pe Charcha, launched in 2018, is a unique platform where PM Modi directly engages with students, parents, and teachers to transform exam-related stress into a “festival of learning.” The initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, promoting stress-free, experiential learning and fostering critical thinking and emotional resilience. The eighth edition, hosted on the MyGov platform, not only broke registration records but also garnered over 21 crore viewership across television and digital media, reflecting its massive reach and impact.
“This milestone underscores PPC’s role as a national movement redefining the examination experience,” said Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, emphasizing its alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India). He highlighted the program’s inclusivity, noting participation from students, teachers, and parents across India and abroad, including a notable number of foreign students.

The 2025 edition stood out for its innovative format, featuring prominent personalities like actor Deepika Padukone, six-time world champion boxer MC Mary Kom, and spiritual leader Sadhguru, who joined PM Modi to inspire participants. Unlike the seventh edition held in a town-hall format at Bharat Mandapam in January 2024, this year’s event embraced a broader, more inclusive approach, incorporating activities like indigenous games, marathon runs, meme competitions, and mental health workshops.
Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw hailed PPC as a “powerful medium” for fostering well-being-focused learning, while Jitin Prasada praised MyGov’s digital innovation for making governance participatory. The program’s growth is evident from its registration numbers: from 38.8 lakh in 2023 to 2.79 crore by January 2025, culminating in 3.53 crore for the eighth edition.
Rooted in PM Modi’s Exam Warriors movement, PPC encourages students to view exams as opportunities for growth rather than pressure. Activities like painting competitions on themes like Chandrayaan and India’s sporting success, held on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary, further instill patriotism and resilience.
With its global appeal and record-breaking engagement, Pariksha Pe Charcha continues to redefine education, making it a cornerstone of India’s journey toward holistic learning.
