Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jind on July 17 will mark a major milestone in Haryana’s development journey, with the launch of several infrastructure projects and the flagging off of the country’s first hydrogen-powered train, Haryana Cooperation Minister Arvind Sharma said on Tuesday. He said the visit would highlight the state’s progress in modern infrastructure, green technology and public welfare initiatives.
Sharma said the public rally in Jind would itself be organised as an eco-friendly event, reflecting the government’s focus on sustainability. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in Haryana, the state has been moving towards new benchmarks in development across multiple sectors.
The minister described the hydrogen-powered train, which will operate on the Jind-Gohana-Sonipat route, as a significant achievement for Haryana and the country. He said the project represents India’s growing focus on clean energy, environmental protection and advanced transportation technology, while also strengthening Haryana’s position as a potential hydrogen technology hub.

He highlighted the inauguration of Pandit Neki Ram Sharma Medical College in Bhiwani and Maharishi Chyawan Medical College in Narnaul as important steps towards improving healthcare access, especially in southern Haryana.
Among other key projects, Sharma mentioned the Kurukshetra Elevated Railway Track Project, which is expected to provide a long-term solution to traffic congestion in the city. He also highlighted the proposed Sikh Museum in Kurukshetra, saying it would promote the region’s cultural, religious and tourism importance.
The minister also pointed to major road connectivity projects, including the Haryana section of the Delhi-Katra Expressway, the Ambala-Kala Amb Greenfield Four-Lane Corridor, the Jind-Gohana NH-352A Greenfield Corridor, the Hansi-Barwala Four-Lane Highway and the Bikaner-Siwani-Sonipat Road Project.
