Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth will on Tuesday lead discussions on jointness among the armed forces and the role of defence forces in nation-building at the second Annual Trident Lecture of the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS). The event will be held at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi as part of CENJOWS’ anniversary celebrations.
Seth will inaugurate the lecture and deliver insights on “Leveraging the Potential of Next Generation for Nation Building”. The programme will be organised around the theme “National Resurgence through the Lens of Defence Forces” and will bring together senior military leadership and experts to discuss the evolving role of the armed forces in strengthening national capabilities.
Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chairman of CENJOWS, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, will deliver the keynote address on “Emerging Contours of Jointness and Integration”. His address will focus on the growing importance of coordination and integration among the three services amid changing operational and security requirements.

Special addresses will also be delivered by Lt Gen Raj Shukla (Retd) on “Civil-Military Fusion: The Way for National Growth” and Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lt Gen Sandeep Jain on “Fighting Smartly: Multi-Domain Operations and The Concept of Jointness”. The discussions will cover multi-domain operations, civil-military cooperation, jointness and integration, as well as the contribution of the armed forces to nation-building.
CENJOWS was established in 2007 under the aegis of Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff and functions as a tri-services think tank. It provides a platform for research, analysis and informed debate on joint warfare, national security and the employment of national power, according to the official statement.
The lecture comes shortly after the conclusion of the fourth Tri-Services Future Warfare Course, which brought together officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force, along with representatives from government organisations, academia, industry and strategic think tanks. Conducted under HQ IDS and coordinated by CENJOWS, the four-week course concluded on Sunday at the Manekshaw Centre, with discussions focused on emerging trends shaping the future character of warfare and the need for the armed forces to remain agile, innovative and future-ready.
