Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for approving 19 transformative road and tunnel projects worth ₹10,637 crore for the Union Territory.
The mega infrastructure push includes key developments like the Peer-Ki-Gali and Sadhana tunnels, the Zaznar-Shopian stretch of NH-701A, a four-lane flyover from Lal Chowk to Parimpora, the Trehgam-Chamkote section of NH-701, a four-lane Magam Flyover on the Narbal-Gulmarg route, and the Qazigund Bypass. These projects aim to boost connectivity and spur development across J&K.
“My government has secured a major win with these ₹10,600 crore projects,” Abdullah posted on X, adding, “I’m grateful to PM Narendra Modi ji and Minister Nitin Gadkari ji for their unwavering support in driving J&K toward progress and connectivity.” The J&K CM’s official X handle echoed the sentiment.

Abdullah assured close collaboration with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for timely project execution. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also extended his thanks for the Centre’s commitment to J&K’s growth, signaling a unified push to transform the region’s infrastructure landscape.
